The skinniest, thinnest house that looks straight out of a Cat in the Hat movie, measuring as wide as myself after a Sunday roast (5 ft 5in), is on the market for £1 million.
If that doesn’t give you an idea of the property market in 2020, I don’t know what will.
In a past life this corridor was a hat shop would you believe, based in Shepherd’s Bush. It’s wedged like a wedged thing on a wedged day between two shops on Goldhawk Road.l
Unbelievably, it has a leafy patio garden and a whopping 24ft LONG kitchen with a spiral staircase. Had to be a spiral really, otherwise it would be steep as a cliff-edge, imagine the size of the stairs!
But here’s the kicker ladies and gents, it was converted by renowned fashion photographer Jurgen Teller and his clever brain. It went up for sale after the current owner decided to move abroad.
It’s quirky and charming and great for entertaining and will appeal to someone who feels there is more to life than two up, two down. It started life as a hat shop, was converted by a fashion photographer and it seems fitting that it is launching as London Fashion Week gets under way – the ultimate designer house. – Simon Waller, manager of Winkworth in Shepherds Bush
You got that right Simon, you cheeky chap! The agents hilariously added that the interior design has the “bespoke approach of a luxury yacht”, making the most of small spaces and the 1034 sq ft of internal space.
